Considering the CITY OF TUCSON'S actions last year, passing several ordinances and resolutions in conflict with ARS 13-3108, this bill is important to all law abiding firearm owners. We must hold them to account and this bill will help us do so.

U.S. Rep. Ron Barber, a Democrat from CD-2, called for Universal Background Checks at a anti-gun rally sponsored by the City of Tucson and Moms Demand Action.
We want to know if your school has asked you to sign a similar agreement.

Our attention on this day turns back to Arizona. We must write and/or call Governor Brewer. Please ask her to sign HB 2455. This bill adds the word, "surrendered" to the current statute which directs a State, County, City or Town agency in possession of a firearm to sell it should it become excess.
Senator Reid begain debate today on amendments to S. 649, his flagship 'People Control' bill. Seven (7) of nine (9) amendments failed. Two amendment will be considered tomorrow.
Senator Flake announced that he will vote NO on the Manchin-Toomey amendment to Senator Reid's S. 649 while Senator McCain is a probable YES on the amendment. Contact Senator McCain as soon as possible.
On Thursday, April 11th, both Senators McCain and Flake voted with fourteen (14) other Republicans to move Senator Reid's gun control bill forward to the floor of the Senate. After the debate and vote on the Manchin-Toomey Amendment, they will take up a ban on Personal Defense Weapons like the AR-15 and a ban on magazines with a capacity greater than ten (10) cartridges. “I have to see first what amendments are going to be allowed, but filibuster just for the sake of trying to block it from a floor vote, I’m not there,” said Sen. Jeff Flake. Washington Post, Tuesday, April 9, 2013 Senator McCain has said he will not help with the filibuster, in fact, he has indicated that he will vote for cloture because he believes the bill should go to the floor for a vote. You may remember in 2001 Senator McCain and Senator Lieberman sponsored a bill that would have required background checks on private, person-to-person sales at gun shows.
Dear Senator Flake, You must become more responsive to me and your constituents. We helped elect you. This is imperative if you expect our help and want our vote again in six years. Gun Owners of Arizona informs me that S. 649 is destructive to the rights of all firearm owners and only restricts the rights of those who already obey the law. It will do nothing to discourage criminal actions. I agree. Therefore, I strongly urge you to filibuster S. 649, Senator Reid's bill placing further restrictions on the rights of law abiding firearm owners. The ‘Gang of 13,’ which includes Senators Paul, Lee, Cruz, Inhofe and Rubio will need your help when the bill comes to the Senate floor for amendments and a vote on this overly broad and very restrictive bill. Without your help, the filibuster could fail.
